CSG remains fully operational as we facilitate essential services to society by providing waste disposal for the chemical, oil, pharmaceutical industries as well as sewerage operations. CSG is closely monitoring the situation and is following the advice issued by the UK Government and the UK Chief Medical Officer. Our main priority is to protect the wellbeing of our employees, customers, suppliers, stakeholders and the general public, whilst ensuring that we can continue to deliver our essential services to our customers.

Contactless Waste Collections

To protect our employees we have decided to introduce contactless waste collections. This means that the CSG Operative will maintain minimal contact with your employees and we kindly ask your employees to follow the same procedure. The procedures for contactless waste collection will depend on whether you have liquid waste, packaged waste or sewage waste.

Please see our detailed contact-free policies for:

If you have recently booked a waste collection, but you, or anyone on your premise (business or home) has COVID-19 please contact us on 0800 011 6600. We will rearrange your collection 14 days ahead without additional cost to you.

Visits to our sites

Our treatment sites are open and will remain in operation for as long as the UK Government recommends it is safe to do so. Upon arrival, your operatives will be advised of any specific arrangements at the site, but we do ask that you follow the precautionary measures below:

  • Not allowing your employees to visit our site if you or any of your employees are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19, or have been in contact with someone showing symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
  • Avoid unnecessary contact with our employees, such as handshakes, hugs or other greeting gestures and keeping and maintaining a 2-metre distance to other people on the treatment site.
  • Wash your hands or use hand-sanitiser upon arrival to our site, and before leaving our site.
  • Follow good cough and sneezing etiquette.

General Prevention Measures:

Public Health England (PHE) and The Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC) are clear that maintaining good hygiene and social distancing are critical in reducing the spread of the disease and the following advice has been issued to all employees:

Do

  • wash your hands with soap and water often for at least 20 seconds – use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available;
  • cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze;
    put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards;
  • avoid close contact (closer than 2 meters) with people who are unwell or potentially infected.
  • avoid handshakes, hugs or any other forms of greeting gestures (i.e. touching elbows).

Don’t

  •  touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.

We kindly ask that the same precautionary measures are taken by you when meeting with our employees.

As a responsible employer CSG will take the advice and guidance being issued by the UK Government. We have therefore advised all employees to who can work from home to do so and to self-isolate if:

  • they have symptoms associated with the Coronavirus,
  • they live with someone who has symptoms of Coronavirus or
  • they have been advised by the NHS to do so.

Following the advice issued by the UK Government, we have taken precautionary measure to minimise business travel.

CSG is here to help

CSG will be reviewing its business policies regarding our operations, employees, health and safety, and resource requirements if the Government’s advice changes.

CSG believes that by following the current guidance any risk to our employees, customers, suppliers and stakeholders will be managed and we will be in a strong position to continue to serve our customers with minimal interruption.

CSG continues to review the situation and the Government’s advice. We will provide additional updates to employees, customers & suppliers as necessary.

If you have any further questions relating to how the virus will affect CSG’s business operations, please contact us.
