A Hampshire girls football team is celebrating after scoring new kit from a leading waste management specialist.

Stubbington Youth U8 Magpies Girls has secured new home and away strips through CSG’s Community Chest scheme.

CSG, headquartered in Fareham, offers a complete variety of services ranging from waste collection through to treatment, recovery and disposal of countless waste streams.

Kit Officer Samantha Mann said: “We are thrilled to have secured this generous funding from CSG, allowing us to buy home and away kits for our Magpies team.

“We have a very enthusiastic bunch of girls who are loving their football and being part of a team. This sponsorship has given them a further boost, both on and off the pitch.

“Stubbington FC is a large club with multiple teams at all age groups. Securing funds to continue operating is always a challenge, so we rely on the support of businesses like CSG.”

Stubbington Youth U8 Magpies Girls play in the Hampshire Girls Youth Football League with their home games at Stubbington Recreation Ground.

CSG’s Community Chest scheme was launched in 2022 with the aim of supporting small community groups, clubs and charities close to the business’ 30 UK bases.

Thousands of pounds have already been distributed, helping to make a tangible difference to good causes across the country.

Daryl Tunningley, Marketing Manager at CSG, said: “We’re pleased to support Stubbington Youth U8 Magpies Girls and their new kits look fantastic.

“Girls football is booming after the success of the England Lionesses in recent years. It’s great to see and we’re proud to be a part of it.”

As well as having its headquarters in Hampshire, CSG also opened a £1.3 million treatment centre in Botley this year, dealing with 25,000 gallons (114,000 litres) of raw sewage every day from off-mains households and businesses across the county.
