01 December 2014 by Daryl Tunningley
Fareham-based waste managers Cleansing Service Group (CSG), who are celebrating their 80th anniversary this year, have beaten off strong competition to win the Hampshire Company of the Year Award for all-round business excellence.
CSG, which is one of Hampshire’s oldest established companies, impressed the judges with an outstanding financial record, strong sales growth, increased profitability and commitment to the environment.
The company was also runner-up for the Management Team of the Year Award
The success completes a hat trick of wins for the company this year – adding to Employer of the Year in the Salford Business Awards and a Green Apple Award for the group’s print waste management arm J & G Environmental.
The award, sponsored by professional services company KPMG, was presented to CSG managing director Neil Richards by the BBC Today presenter Justin Webb at a gala dinner held in the Guildhall in Winchester.
CSG is one of the largest privately-owned industrial and domestic environmental waste management groups in Britain and operates from 23 sites stretching from Cornwall to Kent and up to Middlesbrough.
Its services range from industrial waste treatment and recovery to the maintenance of off-mains domestic drainage systems.
