Cleansing Service Group (CSG), the independent Hampshire-based waste management specialist, is expanding its operations in the North East after its second acquisition in the area.
Award-winning CSG has acquired the assets of Middlesbrough-based Harpers Environmental Services Ltd. which specialises in the treatment of hazardous waste.
Bought out of administration, the latest acquisition strengthens CSG’s position as a leading provider of total waste management services with one of the UK’s largest hazardous waste treatment and recovery capacities including an award-winning facility at Cadishead, Manchester.
Harpers Environmental Services 2.2 acre site in Middlesbrough has a PPC permit for waste treatment and transfer, and has processing facilities providing a wide range of treatment and recycling services including chemical analysis, ultra filtration and biological treatment, oil and water treatment, washing plant for rags, as well as drum and IBC decontamination.
Recently CSG purchased the Teesside-based Wilton Waste Treatment which operates a bio-treatment plant capable of handling a wide range of organic effluent, including hazardous.
Announcing the latest acquisition CSG managing director Neil Richards said: “This latest purchase is in line with our strategy of being able to provide a wide range of waste treatment and recycling facilities to customers in all areas of the UK.
“The Harpers purchase is part of an acquisition programme which has seen CSG acquire four businesses over the past two years.
“In these tough economic times we are also very pleased to be able to provide a continuation of service to Harpers ten staff as well as its many customers.”
CSG, which has its national headquarters at Fareham, is one of the UK waste industry’s fastest growing companies helping many of its customers to maximise recycling opportunities, reduce the volume of waste going to landfill and, in many instances, save money
