Waste managers Cleansing Service Group (CSG) have been awarded a three year contract by London Thamesport (LTP) to provide sewage waste collection as well as grease trap and sewage pump maintenance services at LTP’s massive site on the Isle of Grain.

Sewage will be collected monthly by one of CSG’s specialist tankers from a number of sites, including offices and a café, spread throughout the port. Sewage pump checking and maintenance will be carried out six monthly. All the equipment and services provided by CSG comply fully with relevant EU and UK waste handling and disposal regulations.

London Thamesport maintains a strict schedule of sewage collection and pump maintenance to ensure there is no possibility of effluent leaking into the Thames Estuary.

LTP is a subsidiary of Hutchison Port Holdings Group (HPH) which operates 52 ports across 26 countries. HPH is itself a subsidiary of the multinational Hutchison Whampoa Limited (HWL).

Award-winning CSG, which is one of the UK waste industry’s fastest growing companies, operate a nationwide network of specialist treatment facilities for solid and liquid wastes as well as what is believed to be the UK’s largest hazardous waste treatment and recovery facility at Cadishead, Manchester.
