Between the 9th and 13th of May CSG’s annual Health & Safety week will be held.
During the week we will come together to promote healthy workplaces and empower everyone to give feedback on their work environment.
The Health & Safety Team has been busy planning several events during the week, read below about everything happening during the week.
Work-Shadowing
The success from last year returns: work-shadowing.
All employees are encouraged to get out and about to see other parts of the business during Health & Safety Week.
Teamwork and communication between people and teams in the business is a key factor to our success. Understanding different functions and job roles helps improve working relationships, promote best practices and keep everyone safe.

“I am always harassing the lads on site for paperwork so that we can invoice the customer. After having spent a day with them accepting loads in Artic wagons, I now realise it is harder than I thought. I did not know how time-consuming it is to check that all drums and IBCs entering the plant match the consignment note, or how often there are discrepancies which need resolving. I will definitely give the lads more time from now to check the loads before I chase them for paperwork.”
Angela Banner Sales Administrator from Teesside on her experiences last year.
Neil Lomas – Inspirational Speaker
Early winter 2022 Neil Lomas will row 3000 miles across the Atlantic. This gruelling journey from La Gomera, Canaries to Antigua is expected involve in approximately 1.25 million rowing strokes.
Neil will row for 3 hours, followed by a 3-hour break to eat, sleep and recover. This will then be repeated, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 6 weeks before he arrives back on land. All to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.
There is no denying this will be mentally and physically draining! During Health & Safety Week Neil will share how he has trained and prepared for this journey, and how we can learn from the wisdoms of this challenging task.

Health & Safety Engagement Survey
By now you should’ve received the H&S Engagement Survey and hopefully completed it. If you haven’t, please do so before the 29th of April!
It’s important to us here at CSG to know how involved and engaged you feel in health and safety. By completing the survey, you are helping us keep you and your colleagues safe.
