A leading waste management specialist has stepped in to help a Cadishead animal rescue charity with its spiralling running costs.

CSG – which has a major waste processing centre on Liverpool Road in Cadishead – has made a £600 donation to Little Nest Rescue CIC through its Community Chest charitable fund.

Little Nest Rescue focusses on rescuing and rehabilitating animals in the local area, including horses, alpacas and cats.

The charity is committed to helping as many as animals as possible but routine expenses such as food, veterinary care and facility maintenance have shot up to around £4,000 a month.

Katy Pinder, Director of Operations at Little Nest Rescue C.I.C, said: “We are thrilled to receive this generous donation from CSG.

“As with many charitable initiatives, we heavily depend on the goodwill of local businesses and residents. Their support means we can continue offering these vulnerable creatures the shelter, medical attention and loving homes they urgently need.

“Every day we encounter new cases of animals abandoned, neglected or surrendered. With limited financial resources, we are currently at a critical juncture – so it’s wonderful to have the backing of a Cadishead-based business like CSG.”

CSG has 30 bases across the UK, helping householders and organisations by offering a complete variety of services ranging from waste collection through to treatment, recovery and disposal of countless waste streams.

Its Cadishead facility is a significant employer and processes more than 100,000 tonnes of waste each year.

Daryl Tunningley, Marketing Manager at CSG, said: “We’re delighted to be able to support Little Nest Rescue CIC, which does such fantastic work helping animals in their hour of need.

“CSG is a 91-year-old business with long links to Cadishead. We have a passion for helping the communities we serve and Community Heroes is just one way in which we do that.”
