CSG Backing for North East Economic Cluster

CSG has a decades-long association with the Northern regions of the country.  The company’s hazardous waste treatment arm, based near Manchester in the North West, is a well-established part of the region’s business community from which it draws many of its industrial customers.

Now CSG has created a significant and growing presence in the Teesside area of the North East where it has invested heavily in company acquisitions, new locations and waste treatment plant and machinery.

It has cemented its presence by joining the North East of England Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC), a non-profit organisation founded in 2004 working with chemical-using industries in the North East and seeking to build upon the already powerful industrial base located in the region.

The organisation says it wants to make the region “one of the most competitive and successful chemical-processing locations in Europe.”
A business, or economic, cluster is a geographic concentration of interconnected businesses associated with a particular field.

NEPIC works to support cluster members to become successful and sustainable organisations by promoting a collaborative business environment that helps them grow.

CSG operations manager Jen Cartmell said: “The North East is now one of our most important areas of expansion and we welcome this opportunity to link with other companies contributing to the economic growth of one of the UK’s key industrial regions.”
